In the Shop module, there are three types of documents: order documents, inventory documents, and inventory transfer documents. Once an order is created, products added to the inventory, or an inventory transfer is made, SchoolMind assigns a unique number to the document. By default, it is a six digit number which is increasing incrementally.
To make document numbers distinguishable, you can define prefix and/or suffix for each document (orders, inventory, inventory transfers) and even change the number length if you wish. Usually, this is done according to the institution's policy.
To configure number settings for shop documents, do the following:
1. Navigate to System > Manage Shop Settings.
2. There you will find Order Number Settings, Inventory Number Settings, and Transfer Number Settings. By default, the number length is six digits, and the suffix and prefix are not defined.
3. You can define the length, suffix, and prefix for Order Number Settings, Inventory Number Settings, and Transfer Number Settings according to your institutions' policies. Here's one example of how it can be done:
In the example above, you can see that the order, inventory, and transfer number settings are configured differently (different suffix) so each document will be assigned with a different (unique) number and they will be easy to distinguish.
Here are some examples:
