About the checklist
To make the process of preparing things for the upcoming academic year easier, there is a checklist in SchoolMind which can be used as a reference. The checklist can be found in the System > Manage Academic Year Checklist.
Note: In order to access the checklist, Manage Checklists permission needs to be enabled for an employee (permission group that an employee is a member of).
Using the checklist
Once a new academic year is added in the Manage Academic Years section, the Academic Year Checklist is automatically created and user(s) can start working on it.
The user can access the checklist from the notification center at the top right-hand corner. Or, from the System module, Manage Academic Year Checklist page.
In the checklist, there is a list of all (major) things that need to be defined for the upcoming academic year such as terms, classes, teachers, mark templates, etc.
For every item in the checklist, there is a shortcut which leads to the relevant page after a user clicks on it.
Also, for every item, progress status can be set so user(s) know what is the current status of the checklist item.
Multiple people can work on a checklist, on multiple institutions, with the progress bar showing the current progress of the checklist. For every item that is completed/in progress/dismissed, the photo with the name and timestamp is shown so users are updated with the relevant information.
As mentioned at the beginning of this article, the academic year checklist suggests only what are the major things that need to be done when preparing for a new academic year.
